This post is GOLDEN (like the McDonald's arches 😉)!! Thank you for sharing such a fun post! I've had the opposite experience as you. I wasn't picky as a kid, but somehow after turning 30, the food I enjoy feels so limited. My husband is an amazing chef and it feels wrong to not embrace every meal he makes! Hopefully I'll get there again.
Have you done any work for cookbooks or food-related books? I would for sure buy it. The way you illustrated meals is magical. Heck, maybe if I stare at your foodie illustrations enough it'll help my pickiness. 😋
I am still a picky eater at this age 😂 no ashame in saying this because I try it all (except a few things I refuse to eat like snails*obviously*) but as I like to say I have a refined taste 😜 and I eat like a tiny bird!
I was an extremely picky eater as a kid, but when a friend moved back to town and we started hanging out he knew my tastes and so was able to introduce me to Chinese, Indian, Sushi and now I'm pretty adventurous. I know it's a southern staple but I never liked grits until my Aunt made shrimp and grits (with fresh Carolina shrimp at that) and my hungover behind needed something and it perfectly hit the spot. Now it's one of my favorite dishes!!
I'm not very picky, except when it comes to fish 😂, but my Mum changed my Dad from a picky eater who wouldn't even eat cheese, into a cheese lover who is willing to experiment! (She's a great cook).
I've managed to broaden my husband's horizons a little (though he still hates green stuff 😂).
I love your foodie illustrations - sometimes drawing a recipe can be a lot of fun!

Chef husband, jackpot! Maybe you need a trip too, to shake up your palette?
Thank you so much!! That means a lot bc I'm working on a cookbook proposal now. *fingies crossed*

That's awesome Angela! I love me some shrimp and grits too- I'm thinking that needs to be in my recipe rotation this weekend.
